The one-piece rack mount faceplate incorporates rack mounting into the faceplate for a seamless look. The overall width of the faceplate is 19". Oval mounting holes are centered at 18.312". Faceplate height is 3.50" (2U).

Memory Card Ports

Faceplate is machined with cutouts for two memory card ports. The memory card ports are not required with the new Xbox 360 since all games and player information is stored on the hard drive. For system upgrades, the faceplate can also be removed to access the ports if required.

Faceplate is machined with cutouts for accessory ports used for wired game controllers and other add-on devices. These are not needed if you use the standard wireless game controller included with the Xbox 360.

DVD Drive Isolation System

DVD Drive Isolation System

 
The drive can either be rigidly mounted or isolation mounted. To decrease noise from vibrations, the DVD drive floats on specially designed isolation pads. This feature requires the plastic posts built into the drive be machined down. This must be done accurately and carefully so the drive is not damaged. Exactly 0.500" must be trimmed from each of four legs. If you select the machining option, you must send us your drive. Return shipping costs are extra.

Thermal Control System

Thermal Control System

 
The Thermal Control System monitors the CPU temperature and switches on an exhaust fan if the CPU temp exceeds 60C degrees. This feature is optional if the unit is operated in an air conditioned room and the system is not within a confined shelf space. It is highly recommended if the ambient temps around the case exceed 32C or 90F. Placing the unit in a confined space can cause surrounding air temps to exceed 32C even if the room temps are lower. Note, 12v fan connector on Xbox board is not wired the same as a regular PC fan.
